Board-certified psychiatrists seeing South Pasadena patients in person or by secure video.

Quick Answer
South Pasadena patients see Haven's double board-certified psychiatrists — Dr. Rachel McKenna and Dr. Alison Larson, D.O. — either at our Tierra Verde office or by secure video when eligible. We treat ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD and autism spectrum concerns in adults, teens and children.
South Pasadena Patients
Why South Pasadena Comes to Haven
South Pasadena sits along the Intracoastal Waterway between Gulfport and St. Pete Beach, and it is now a stop on the SunRunner bus rapid transit line connecting downtown St. Petersburg to the beaches. That connectivity has not solved the region's shortage of psychiatric providers — most of Pinellas County still runs new-patient waits in the months rather than weeks.
Haven is a small, two-psychiatrist practice by design. Dr. Rachel McKenna and Dr. Alison Larson, D.O. conduct their own evaluations and their own follow-ups, so patients are not screened by one clinician and handed to another for medication management.
For South Pasadena residents, that means either a drive south along Pasadena Avenue and the Pinellas Bayway to Tierra Verde, or a secure video visit for eligible follow-ups once your care plan is established — the same physician, the same length of visit, whichever way you see her.
Haven provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and medication management for ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood disorders, eating disorders, autism spectrum concerns and psychotic disorders. Condition-by-condition detail is on the Psychiatry page.
Who You'll See
Both physicians are licensed in Florida and personally conduct their own evaluations and follow-up visits, in person and by telehealth.

What's Different
Worth the Drive from South Pasadena
Weeks, not months
New-patient evaluations are typically available within days. That is a function of keeping the practice small, and it is the reason most South Pasadena patients first reach out.
You see a physician, every time
Both providers are board-certified psychiatrists who conduct their own evaluations and follow-ups. Dr. Larson is double board-certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry.
In-person options when they matter
If your care would benefit from ExoMind TMS therapy, it is delivered at the Tierra Verde office, so telehealth patients are never stuck at the edge of what video can do.

Common Questions
Psychiatry in South Pasadena — FAQ
How quickly can a South Pasadena patient be seen?
New-patient evaluations are usually available within days rather than the multi-month waits common across Pinellas County. Booking a video visit is generally the fastest route in.
Do I have to drive to Tierra Verde, or can I be seen by video?
Either. Many South Pasadena patients are treated entirely by secure video. Some prefer the first evaluation in person and then switch to telehealth for follow-ups.
Can I take the SunRunner to my appointment?
The SunRunner connects South Pasadena to downtown St. Petersburg and the beaches, but it does not run to Tierra Verde, so patients coming in person will still need to drive the Pinellas Bayway. Telehealth is a good option if you would rather not.
Do you take insurance?
Coverage varies by plan. Call the office at 813-567-5675 with your insurance details and we will tell you what to expect before your first appointment.
